X-Concepts Modifiers

Do you ever glare at your car models and boringly sigh………how many times can you hold the car in your hands and say to yourself – If I owned one, I’d have better rims…..better tires. I’d certainly accessorize to MY personality. But we all know how expensive it is to experiment with our cars. We spoke with Todd Ballard, the brains behind X Concepts® Modifiers™.

Nika: Todd, I love these! Please tell our readers what are modifiers and what makes them so addicting?

Todd: Modifiers are 1/43 scale die cast collectable vehicles that feature officially licensed aftermarket parts. Interchangeable parts include intake, exhaust, body kit, wheels, tires, adjustable suspension, seats, windows, sound systems, nitrous, etc. The main thing with Modifiers is the realism we try to capture in every vehicle. The addictiveness comes from the ability to tune an actual vehicle with actual parts in the palm of your hand. There aren't any other toy companies out there that are/ or will put the time and detail into making these vehicles as realistic as ours. I mean, how cool is it to test out kits and wheels on your car for $14.99 before you go buy the real thing?

Nika: I hear you! I found them easy to work on even for someone as clumsy as me! What gave you the idea to create such an innovative toy?

Todd: I have a background in youth marketing and have been following the youth automotive culture for the past 5 years. I had the idea, researched toy companies that I felt would be interested and picked X Concepts®. X Concepts® makes high quality products that really target the Gen-Y demographic. They also have over 60 combined years of experience within the toy industry.

Nika: How do you choose the vehicles?

Todd: We are currently tooling over 48 different vehicles...this includes imports, domestics, SUV's , trucks, etc.

Nika: Where do you see the company going in the future?

Todd: Without saying too much, we plan to own the die cast market. Besides the 1/43 scale Modifiers, we have a 1/64 scale product that will blow people away. Also, we have just released series 5 and 6, which include the 2002 GMC® Yukon™ Denali, 2001 Ford® Focus™ ZX3, and the 2002 Chevrolet® S-10(tm). Series 5 and 6 features 24 different officially licensed interchangeable parts from top aftermarket automotive companies. Other products will follow.

Nika: Will there ever be a yellow Ferrari 308?

Todd: Probably not – but we’ll let you know if we do!
