Norbert Lisinski:  automotive art at its finest

Nelson Piquet and Ayrton Senna Racerchicks.com is always in search fro truly unique automotive art.  Recently we came across works of Canadian artist Norbert Lisinski.  Here is his story:

I was born in Scarborough, Ontario. I graduated from the graphic design program at George Brown College in Toronto. My commercial projects involve digital illustration for technical manufacturers, private commissions for automotive renderings and desktop graphic design and layout. I have participated in private and public showings of my work including, as a finalist, the AJAC Art of the Automobile competition at the Canadian International Auto Show, Artfest at the Toronto Molson Indy, and an annual automotive art show at the Latcham Gallery in Stouffville, Ontario.

People often ask me why I enjoy producing automotive art. I answer simply that I enjoy it. I produce my artwork for me first. I get a creative outlet that I don't get at my full-time job. For as long as I can remember I have had a fascination with vehicles of all kinds, be it Ferrari 250 SWBtrains, trucks, aircraft or whatever. All of those are creations in themselves, and I appreciate them more from an aesthetic quality than a technical one.

I am always striving to improve and expand on my work. There is a fine line between "Illustration" and "Fine Art" and I am trying to expand to a higher level of artistic quality in terms of composition, colour and even size and texture. I have a "list" of work that I will eventually tackle. I'm enjoying the constant challenge of trying to evolve to a higher level and I get great satisfaction when I produce work that I feel accomplishes that. There is much to learn from other artists and I try to network with them when possible.

I'm hoping that people who view my artwork will appreciate the skill and technique employed in producing it, and will enjoy the work in some way, be it the composition, subject matter, colour balance, texture or whatever. There mayDuesenberg Phaeton not even be a specific reason, just that they appreciate the work itself for what it is.

I produce work in gouache, watercolor, acrylics and coloured pencil. I don't try to mix the media if possible although I do employ both brushwork and airbrush when it is needed.
