Kim
Scheffler Bennett
I was born in St
Joseph, Michigan on January 12, 1968. Growing
up on a large produce farm, I was taught that
with hard work and perseverance you can
accomplish anything. One more thing I learned
was that I could get dirty and still be a
girl. Later on in my childhood, my family
helped out at a motorcross track in South
West, MI. Here is where I fell in love with
the smell of fuel and oil and the sight of
speed.
After attending
Michigan Lutheran High School (St. Joe, MI) for
three years, my family moved to Florida. I
graduated from Auburndale High School
(Auburndale, FL) with honors. After going to
Florida Southern College on a basketball
scholarship, I moved back to Michigan.
In
1991, we moved back to Florida. I coached
volleyball and girls basketball at Auburndale
High School up until 1998. When my racing
started to include a lot of travel, I had to
choose. I've been racing for over five years
now. My racing goal for the year 2000 was to
receive Rookie of the Year and win the Points
Championship in the P.A.R.T.S. Pro Truck Series.
We also competed in the SARA Late Model
Series and the FASTRUCK Series. After
capturing the "Rookie" title and
finishing 6th in national points, we had a great
year in racing. One day I will race in the
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and be the first
female to win a NASCAR race.
On a
more personal note, I enjoy playing beach
volleyball and basketball. My favorite color is
purple (that is a hard one to guess). I have two
dogs at home - a standard poodle and a white
shepherd. But most of all, I enjoy hearing from
my fans!
A
SPECIAL THANKS & MUCH GRATITUDE
I
want to thank my family and fans for
being there from the beginning. To all my
friends and sponsors for their loyal support, a
great big "Thank you!" But most of
all, I thank God for giving me this talent and
the opportunity to race.
And
to all who read this, Thank you, and remember to
always "Go for all your dreams"!!
