More on Hope Powers, written by Berna Snyder
Hope is an extremely motivated person who anyone
would admire, with a personality that is bubbly
and exciting. She is a very clean and fair
driver and has gained the respect and friendship
of the track owners, officials and fellow
drivers. She is very popular at the track where
she races.
She is a devoted wife to her husband Bud and a
loving mother to her son T.J. and her stepsons
Andrew and Beau. She is very career oriented as
an office manager where she works. This year
Hope has made plans to make volunteer
appearances at a local children's hospital and
school for handicapped kids. Her passion in
racing began when her and her Uncle Bill would
go to the on the weekend. Then she shared with
her Uncle Bill how she would love to one day
become a driver, and by teaching her everything
he knew about racing, and how to work to become
a great driver. That same year Uncle Bill along
with some friends and family, surprised Hope by
building her the car she been successful at
wining in!! Her Uncle Bill has become her driver
instructor and is always by her side through
every race and is practically the entire crew
and mechanic.
Her Uncle Bill raced at the same track where she
does, Galesburg Speedway, 40 years ago and did
well with several wins himself. After her dad,
Tom Fuller, saw how talented and devoted Hope
was, paid for to go to The Buck Baker Racing
School at Rockingham, N.C. This only made her
more determined and have the goal of racing ASA,
ARCA, or maybe Nascar Winston Cup.
Her motto in life is: YOU HAVE TO LOVE TO
COMPETE AND LOVE TO WIN! She lives this every
day through her passion of someday becoming a
Nascar driver, And at the rate she is going she
just may have that opportunity to become that
someday VERY soon!
