Debbie
Parks
#7 Mini Super Truck
In 2003 the SRL Stars Mini Super
Truck Series at Altamont Raceway Park debuted
rookie driver Debbie Parks in her #7 MST. As a
little girl growing up in the San Francisco Bay
Area, Debbie preferred playing with Hot Wheels
over dolls and remembers fondly riding dirt
bikes with her father at Carnegie Park. Her
"Barbie Gone Bad" image fits appropriately with
her sassy looks, quick spirit and competitive
personality.
In 2002 she formed Stiff
Competition Motorsports with co-owner/driver and
teammate Ron Pestana and supervised the
preparation and completion of her #7 Nissan Mini
Super Truck. Ron tested the #7 twice at Altamont
and once at Stockton 99 in 2002 winning a heat
race in it’s second start at Altamont and
finishing 10th in the higher division Pro4 Truck
main event at Stockton 99 before relinquishing
the cockpit to Debbie for the 2003 season. A
former muscle car mechanic, Debbie's passion for
auto racing and talent for auto mechanics proved
a valuable asset in 2003 as she won the coveted
"Rookie of the Year" title at ARP.
When
the season ended in September 2003, she
immediately converted her truck to a dirt truck
and began racing in open dirt shows. In her
first dirt race ever, she finished 7th in a main
event at Chowchilla CA.. Debbie is also an avid
go-kart racer and was sponsored in 2003 by
Speedring Indoor Kart Racing in Santa Clara CA.
Her favorite pass times when not racing are
wrenching on cars, listening to music, playing
guitar and taking care of her cherished German
Shepard, Ziggy.
