I
began my racing career in Meridian, MS in 1994
competing at Whynot Speedway in the 4cyl.
modified division. After gaining experience
the first year me and my crew set out and
traveled to different race tracks to gain more
experience on different tracks. During my time
in the 4cyl. class I won 48 times and ran in 4
different states on 21 different tracks. My
accomplishments include first female to win
feature events at Whynot, MS, Hattiesburg, MS,
Greenville, AL, and Clanton, AL. Was the 1994
and 1995 Sportsman on the year at Whynot. Won
the 1995 Spectator choice award at Whynot. In
1995 I placed 121 in the behind the wheel
readers top 200 drivers, and placed 154 in
1996. I also competed in and won my first ever
asphalt race in Mobile, AL. Started 23rd out
of 26 cars that night.
In 1999 we
decided to make the move up to the open wheel
modified class. In my time in the modifieds I
have 11 wins and have raced in five states on
12 tracks. My accomplishments include first
female to win feature events at Queen City
Speedway, MS and Columbus, MS. My rookie
season I placed 18th in the Clausen Gulf Coast
Region, finished 6th in rookie standings for
the nation, and finished 2nd in track points
at Columbus, MS and Greenville, AL. Voted
IMCA's best looking car in October of 1999.
With my recent
move my traveling to different tracks will
have to be put on hold for now so for the
remainder of 2002 we plan on running at East
Lincoln Motor Speedway and will focus on
winning the track championship which is
something I have never tired to do because of
my traveling. I enjoy getting to travel though
cause it only makes me a better racer and I
have made a lot of great friends because of
it.
UPDATE: Traci won the 2002 East Lincoln Motor
Speedway Track Championship and the 2002
North Carolina State Championship.
