REPORT: MARYBETH HARRISON FINISHES IN TOP
HALF IN TEAM'S THIRD TRANS-AM RACE OF THE YEAR
Marybeth is a winning race car driver currently
competing in the SCCA Trans Am Series driving for Glacier Bear Racing.
Marybeth is also sponsored by Fountain Tire who
supports her Racing Against Drugs school talk program in Western Canada which promotes
healthy lifestyle choices to school children.
Marybeth is also a racing instructor at the
ProFormance Race Drivers School. Marybeth drove her Fountain-Tire sponsored
Formula 1600 in 1998 and 1999. Marybeth was a member of the Pace Car
Program for the FedEx CART World Championship in 1998 and 1999.
She drove in ProFormance's BFGoodrich/Toyota spec series in 1996 and 1997.From 1993 to 1995, Marybeth raced a 100cc
kart first in the Novice class and then in Yahama Light.
Marybeth credits Latin Dancing as a great
way to stay in shape. She fell in love with racing
after taking a high performance driving course in
1992 and has since made racing her full time career.
She has won races in karting, ice racing, sedans,
Legends cars and Formula 1600 with 2nd and 3rd place
finishes in Formula 2000 in Eastern Canada. She holds
the track record for her class at Mission Raceway Park
and in 1998 won the Canadian Formula Drivers Association
(CFDA) Championship.
She has a Bachelor of Arts
Degree in Psychology and is a skilled marketer and public
speaker. Marybeth is active in her Racing Against Drugs
school talks, regularly making speeches to school
children about healthy lifestyle choices.
She is an avid vegetarian
with a vigorous weight and cardio training program. One
of her biggest personal accomplishments was walking barefoot across a
40-foot bed of hot coals! She loves Latin dancing and
playing bridge in her spare time.
