Racing Career: 1981 began Lauren's racing career in Sports Car Club of
America (SCCA), competing in Solo I & II.
Winning multiple races, a regional title and season ending points champ for 4 years straight.
By 1989, Lauren evolved into a road racer and started winning in her
historic 1966 Trans-Am Mustang. She competed in
SVRA, HSR, VARAC, and VSCCA. Again winning most every race in her classification, as well
as a 2nd in overall yearend standings in the historic endurance series.
Never content with where she is, Lauren moved into Roush Racing Chassis #009, a 1989 IMSA / Trans-Am Mustang. She now has the ultimate road racing car.
For 2000, Lauren competed in SVRA/HSR sanctioned historic races, and the Canadian
G.T. Challenge Cup sanctioned by ASN/FIA. 2001 will be a
copy of this successful year with the addition of a SCCA Trans-Am ride pending sponsorship.
Lauren operates the DRIVING AMBITIONS Performance Driving School at Watkins Glen since 1983.
Business Career: In addition to her professional driving career, Lauren is
also the Vice President of Classic Tube, Inc. She is also frequently called upon as a consultant by TV, radio, major auto manufacturers, and various automotive publications. She is the automotive spokesperson for Michelin,
Uniroyal, FRAM air filters and Prestone to name a few. She has established herself as a driving safety expert, and is a regular
guest expert on television including; The Today Show; Inside Edition; MSNBC; CBS-The Early Show, The Oprah Winfrey Show,
CNNfn, ESPN, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX News, and National Public Radio. Lauren is also the author of two automotive books, technical articles and service manuals.
Personal: Lauren J. Fix enjoys the support of her husband and two children;
Shelby and Paul III (who both go kart race). When she is not racing, she enjoys fitness training and gourmet cooking.
