Desire
Dunavan
1st year racer
Class: Bombers
Vemilion County Speedway
Danville, IL
Daughter of former 75' track champion Don
Dunavan, is starting her first year of racing.
She knew she wanted to race when her dad took
her to a late model race on her 18th birthday,
which was on father's day. "My dad had two girls
and so I was the one to carry on the name for
him in racing, but they're hard shoes to fill." Plus she
has many racer friends who encouraged her to
race. They drive super street and bomber cars.
She has three friends that race in her class
that try to keep her in line and give her tips
right before the big race. Because she started
late in the season, she has only raced in 4
races not counting the consis, and made the
feature on her fourth race.
She has many plans
for her next year of racing. These include, a
new motor, paint job, and new numbers. Her new
number will be 84 this year. She is looking
forward to the next season.
