EBC
Brakes Backs S.G.Racing for 2005
January 26, 2004: Seattle, WA - Team Subie
Gal Racing and U.K. based EBC Brakes have joined
forces for the 2005 rally season. They have
reached an agreement in which EBC will be
supplying the team with support and meeting all
of their braking needs.
EBC Brakes Group (Ebcbrakes.com) is a private
company owned exclusively by the current
managing director, Andy Freeman. A U.K. based
company with USA manufacturing facilities, EBC
manufactures a
positively huge range of brake pads and rotors -
and has been doing so, for over twenty years.
From automotive to motorcycle to mountain bikes
to shifter karts, EBC is very well known and
respected for their quality products throughout
all realms of motor sport. From its early days
of being one of the pioneers of the disc brake
pad aftermarket for motorcycles since they were
first introduced on motorcycles in 1976, EBC
Brakes has grown to be a worldwide group with
strengths in every area of the brake industry.
"It's going to be great to work with Jamie"
Director Andy Freeman stated, "We will supply
the team with the brake pads it needs as well as
work with the team as a tester for any
improvements we make and need an opinion on."
The SubieGal Racing team began using EBC's
new Redstuff Ceramic compound pads at Rim of the
World last season. Click here to read Jamie's
Full Review of the pads for all of the
specifications and details. The team was taken
by the excellent performance of these pads and
negotiations began to create a partnership and
working relationship which will enable the team
to continue to use these
excellent braking items as they compete in the
2005 Rally season.
"Of course we are very excited to be working
alongside EBC Brakes, I absolutely love these
brake pads!" stated Jamie Thomas, team driver
for SGRacing, "I know the Redstuff Ceramics will
perform without cutting up my rotors, this is
very important as my car class rules demand that
we use factory rotors. Finally we have found a
fantastic performing brake pad, that doesn't
destroy our rotors each and every rally. This is
a great opportunity, we're really looking
forward to working alongside EBC this year."
