CINDI LUX WINS AND SETS RECORD AT ARIZONA
MOTORSPORTS PARK

PORTLAND, Ore. – March 10, 2003 – Cindi Lux
and her NayKid Racing team partners inaugurated
the brand new 2.5-mile Arizona Motorsports Park
at the SCCA national race this past weekend.
Lux’s successful weekend started with her
qualifying third. She went on to take the win at
the checkered flag while her teammates finished
second and third on the podium. This race marks
Lux’s first win of the 2003 season and the
team’s third in three races this season.
Driving the team’s No. 78 Corvette Z06 racing
machine, Lux set a race lap record of 1:44.40.
Lux and her teammate Gilhart were nose to tail
charging hard for the first eight out of the
21-lap race. The two Corvettes were never more
than a car width apart. A little bobble by
Gilhart and Lux slid by and won the race.
“Overall
we’re very happy with the results. This is my
first win this season and it feels fantastic.
Now all three of us have wins under our belts.
My biggest competitors are my teammates Scotty
and Rick and it really pushes me which is great.
This weekend was a good show for NayKid Racing,”
Lux said of her first NayKid Racing win.
Lux leaves on Wednesday to start training
celebrities for the 2003 Toyota Pro/Celebrity
Race for the Long Beach Grand Prix. The training
days will consist of intense training that is
required by all participants in the celebrity
race regardless of their racing background. The
training is held at Willow Springs, Calif. where
Lux started racing in 1988.
