Jennifer Jo Cobb to attempt NASCAR Busch
Series Debut at Homestead-Miami Speedway
KCR (Keith Coleman Racing) forms
partnership with Vassarette
Eddyville, KY – Never content to rest on
their laurels, Keith Coleman Racing (KCR) is to
set to shake up the racing world again with the
formation of a second team that will debut in
the Busch Series’ final race of the season.
KCR has announced an agreement with
Vassarette to sponsor the number 50 Chevrolet
Monte Carlo in the Ford Championship 300 on
November 20 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
“We are very excited to be a part of the KCR
team," said Art DeCesaro, Vice President /
General Manager of Vassarette. "In a very short
time they have proven themselves to be an
organization that possesses a single-minded
determination to race at the front of the pack
each week."
“We’ve been talking for a couple of weeks and
it became apparent very quickly that this was an
association that made sense for both sides,”
said Keith Coleman, team owner. “Our goal every
week is to field a competitive race car and be
in position to win at the end of the race.
Vassarette wants that too.”
The car will be driven by Jennifer Jo Cobb,
an up and coming driver who has been racing
since 1991. She has amassed more than 60 career
victories on four different racing series in
that time. Most recently, she has competed in
the ARCA Re/Max series and has three top-10
finishes to her credit in five career starts.
Cobb will be competing in the first Busch
Series race of her career. She will be looking
to gain valuable experience to use in 2005 when
she will be competing for the Busch Series’
Rookie of the Year award.
“This is the opportunity I’ve been waiting
for,” said Cobb. “It is my chance to run with
the best drivers in the business and prove that
I belong.”
“Jennifer fits the mold we look for at KCR,”
Coleman said. “She is talented and determined to
make the most of her opportunities. We think
she’ll open a few eyes in Homestead.”
Jennifer will attempt to qualify for the
race on Thurs., Nov. 18th and the race will be
televised live on NBC at 12-Noon central. |
