Racecar Driver Jennifer Jo Cobb to Appear at “Best of Leavenworth” within Hours of Getting off the track at Chicagoland Speedway

Come meet local race car driver/spokesperson Jennifer Jo Cobb during the “Best of Leavenworth” on Friday, Sept. 10 from 7-9 p.m. at the Leavenworth Landing Park. Cobb is sponsored by Providence Health, which includes Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth, Kan. and Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. Providence Health is her official healthcare provider.

In order to attend the Best of Leavenworth event, the hospitals made special arrangements for Cobb’s appearance between her qualifying run on Thursday, practice on Friday and her ARCA RE/MAX Series race at Chicagoland Speedway on Saturday. Jennifer will finish practice at Chicagoland Speedway around 2pm on Friday, will fly from Chicago to Kansas City and will arrive at the Best of Leavenworth event around 7pm. She will be there for about 2 hours, will then arrive back in Chicago around midnight and then will race on Saturday, which will be televised live on SPEED Channel at 1pm. “I offered to do this for Providence Health because they have been so supportive of my racing career and I wanted to help them with this great event and I look forward to meeting a lot of great people at the Best of Leavenworth Event,” Cobb said.

“Jennifer believes that wellness and staying healthy is a top priority and felt it was important to help us promote this message at the Best of Leavenworth event,” Catherine Rice, Providence Health Marketing and Volunteer Services director said. “We arranged for her to fly from Chicago to Leavenworth after her practice runs on Friday afternoon. She will fly back to Chicago on Friday night and be ready to race on Saturday.”

Jennifer is coming off a 7th place finish at Nashville Super Speedway and a 9th place finish at Kansas. Jennifer is hoping to compete in the Mr. Goodcents 300 NASCAR Busch Series Race at Kansas Speedway, subject to sponsorship and NASCAR approval. Providence Health, along with Nick-N-Willy’s World Famous Take-N-Bake Pizza have committed to provide sponsorship support for the Kansas Busch Race in October, but additional sponsorship must still be secured for Jennifer to make the race.

Additionally, Cobb is a Richard Petty Driving Experience Instructor at various race tracks throughout the U.S., including but not limited to Daytona International Speedway, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway, California Speedway and Michigan Speedway. Cobb is also the co-host of “Inside Motorsports” a weekly motor sports show on every Monday at 6pm on Time Warner Cable’s Metro Sports.
