All-New
Accord Coupe Combines V6 Power with 6-Speed
Manual
TORONTO (March 17, 2003) - Honda
Canada Inc. announced today that the all-new
Accord Coupe EX equipped with a 240-horsepower
V6 engine and a new 6-speed manual transmission
will be available at Honda dealerships April 1,
2003. The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price
will be $33,600.
Available in limited supply, the V6 Coupe
with the 6-speed manual transmission adds
considerable features above the 5-speed
automatic-equipped V6 Coupe. Upgrades include
17-inch split-spoke alloy wheels, 215/50 R17
tires and a strut tower bar to improve chassis
stiffness and handling. The 6-speed Coupe also
features a unique intake resonance chamber,
creating an identifiable "sport" sound.
For the interior, the range-topping Coupe
benefits from a perforated leather interior,
aluminum shift knob and a premium 180-watt audio
system with an in-dash 6-disc CD changer.
The
2003 Accord Coupe EX V6 6-speed is powered by a
240-horsepower engine, displacing 3.0 litres and
is equipped with Honda's patented VTEC variable
valve timing system. The chassis was stiffened
for the 2003 model year and the four-wheel
double wishbone suspension has been upgraded for
improved handling.
The driver-oriented interior features a tilt
and telescopic steering wheel mounted with both
cruise and audio controls. The dashboard is lit
with LED illumination, automatically adjusting
the intensity in stages as the driver enters.
Adding to the sense of luxury is a dual-zone
automatic climate control system, heated front
seats and standard power moonroof.
The 2003 Accord Coupe EX V6 6-speed builds on
the Coupe line-up that includes a 4-cylinder,
160-horsepower model in LX-G and EX-L trims and
the Accord Coupe EX V6 equipped with a 5-speed
automatic transmission.
