Book: Killer Curves by Roxanne St. ClaireKiller Curves

by Roxanne St. Claire

Published by Pocket Books and available where fine paperbacks are sold.

In a book - What do you get when you cross romance, suspense and mystery with NASCAR racing? My bet would be there's too much of on the track already so how could it work in a novel? It can.

It took a talented writer such as Roxanne St. Claire to make Killer Curves a great mixture of all of the above in this Racerchicks.com must read.

How does she do it? Firstly, her characters are credible. As they develop they remain true, capturing us with their personalities.

The story itself is realistic and entertaining, keeping the reader engrossed in both the personal relationships and the plots around them.

Race car driver Beau Lansing has racer sex appeal that suspiciously mirrors a few real life racers - depending of course, on your favorite. While Celeste Bennett, our strong lead, has nothing in common with track fluff that hover around them.

They meet as Beau needs her help to save his team owner, Travis Chastaine, Celeste's real father. Before she will agree to donate her kidney for his life saving operation, she wants to get to know the man that her mother loved so many years ago.

Celeste Bennett  is a true racerchick.  Thrown into working for a NASCAR team, she learns to respect and love the sport.  How could a person not become addicted to such an adrenaline rush as racing? Author St. Claire must of found that out herself.

"Intrigue abounds in this suspenseful romance featuring a debutante in disguise and a sexy race car driver, who must solve a murder, save a life, and try not to fall in love...before it's too late."

St. Claire takes this difficult task of tying all loose ends in thisand presents us with a first rate story that keeps our engine reviving.  Her knowledge of racing makes this a perfect read for the racerchick in all of us.  With the right amount of technical, you are bound to feel a part of the crew.  This is a checkered flag read that comes highly recommended.

Who is Roxanne St. Claire ?

When Publishers Weekly praised Roxanne St. Claire as “an author who's on the fast track to making her name a household one,” earlier this year, those who know the attractive Florida resident weren’t surprised.

Before Roxanne broke into the highly competitive world of publishing in two genres, she excelled as a marketing executive, seven years as a Senior Vice President with the prestigious public relations firm, Hill & Knowlton. In their Boston office, her clients included Fortune 500 companies such as Burger King Corporation, IBM and Arthur Andersen, and start-ups and celebrities as well. Later she was the sole proprietor of a thriving marketing consulting business. A 1979 mass communications graduate of UCLA, Roxanne is also a former actress who appeared on the sitcoms “Laverne and Shirley” and “Bosom Buddies” and hosted a talk show called “Between the Piers.”

Roxanne broke new ground in publishing in December 2004, with HIT REPLY, her fifth novel and her first under the Rocki St. Claire pseudonym. The December trade paperback from Downtown Press is written totally in emails and instant messages. The cross-generational story follows three women at different stages and ages in life who turn to each other – and a few notable men – for all the strength, humor and love necessary to navigate some very tough times.

Adept at writing romantic suspense, Roxanne has six books on her 2005 publishing schedule, including KILLER CURVES, “an incredible spin through the world of NASCAR racing” (Winter Haven, FL NewsChief, out from Pocket Books in February.

After leaving Boston, Roxanne and her husband lived for five years in Miami, Florida, where they endured the unique experience of losing their home and everything in it to Hurricane Andrew in August 1992. While they were unharmed, the storm had a profound impact on their community and their lives, teaching life-altering lessons about the importance of family and safety versus material goods

Roxanne now lives in Satellite Beach with her husband and their two children. When not reading, writing or researching a book, she takes advantage of life on the water and in the tropics. Her husband of fourteen years, a retired IBM executive, is a world-class cook and baseball coach. Learn more about Roxanne St. Claire on her website, www.roxannestclaire.com.
