Meet Max the ultimate
driving kitchen - and Keith Famie of Famie's
Adventures in Cooking:
I’ve
heard of eating on the run but eating on the
drive – well that’s a bit different!!
And when you are driving through such
exotic places such as Mexico and the
Australian Outback
- you know it’ll be an adventure
cooking up the local treats.
But how do you whip up something tasty?
Well let me introduce you to MAX – the
ultimate mobile kitchen.
A custom modified GMC Denali XL, Max is
not only and incredible adventure vehicle,
it’s also the last word in gadgetry, from
the console-mounted PC to the hypermodern GPS
tracking system to the fully equipped kitchen
unit, which allows for sophisticated food
preparation anytime and ANYWHERE.
Now
– no rookie driver could handle this full
pullout kitchen including a professional-grade
Wolf stove, a Flashbake Oven and a
refrigerator….. certainly not this
racerchick – It takes someone like Keith
Famie – noted chef and restaurateur to
handle these culinary adventures.
Hit with the travel bug early, Keith
spent many years traveling to all parts of the
globe. Opening his first restaurant in 1988 – and following that
with a highly successful cooking television
show (Famie’s Adventures in Cooking) Keith
brings us expertise in the gastronomical
delights of where ever he may hang his hat for
the time being.
“You’ve
really never been there until you’ve eaten
the food”
Nika:
Now Keith – what made you want to mix
cooking with adventure?
Keith:
I’ve always enjoyed traveling and learning
about the origins of Food and who was
responsible for the creation of the
dishes…..I am fairly athletic and enjoy most
outdoor activities.
Nika:
Well this racerchick is well known for
eating! What is Max like?
Keith:
It is the ultimate all adventure truck with my
most important accessory:
a kitchen….I named it after my
Rottweiller who died a few years ago
Nika:
I’m sure it garners much attention
when it’s driving in these exotic locales.
Where do you see your next adventure taking
place?
Keith:
Hawaii…..Egypt….Vegas…
Nika:
We were hoping you’d say the local race
track! What
do you think would be a great racerchicks.com
race track recipe? …”
Keith: On my web
site www.famie.com,
we have an assortment of recipes. Check
it out
Nika:
We did and found everything from
Asparagus Risotto to Whitefish with Pumpkin
seeds – including recipes that I could
handle! We
are counting the days until we try the Chicken
and Artichoke Crepes or the Autumn Mushroom
Stew!
Thank
you Keith Famie.
