CATCH THE VIBE!
The There's something to be said for old fashion
competition - going head to head with your peers.
Well that's just what I will be doing Tuesday April 1,
2008 with
www.caththevibe.ca. It doesn't hurt that I'll
be spending the day behind the wheel of the 2009 Pontiac
Vibe. Called an "Urban Relay Challenge" it sounds
like fun. Check out the website above and
click on TEAM PERFORMANCE - my partners in crime!
I've met my team mate and she is wonderful - we'll be
the team to beat. Please check out the website and
follow us along on our adventure:

THE EVENT:
I am exhausted! Sure we've only driven 200km
but it feels like FOREVER. the ironic part was the
200km wasn't easy to come by. We were not going to get
any penalties so we had to reach the right mileage.
That meant my teammate would be trolling a Mall parking
lot while I was inside buying the item with the Olympic
rings ( a task for 10 points) and getting a recent
picture printed ( Thank you Blacks Sherway Gardens!)
When we first received our challenges for the day I
was a pessimistic - getting all accomplished would be a
miracle. I would at least try.
My teammate, Candice Batista of Rogers Television,
was amazing. She knew the city like the back of
her hand. I have never been to the Scarborough
Bluffs for example. I know as a resident I should
have explored my own town but geez - I have closer
parks! She was a GREAT help with other tasks - her
smile melted hearts - her incredible people skills I
could definitely learn.
We worked well together and finished all our tasks.
I am proud. While the site says we dropped down to
2nd place I really don't have any answers to why.
We worked hard getting all the challenges
accomplished... and wow, what challenges they were!
VERY CREATIVE! NOTE TO GM: Candice and I would
have preferred the "Hug a Fireman Picture" for points
instead of finding a red car!!! Other teams
may differ!
Best part - a great drive! The 2009 Pontiac
drive was amazing. Peppy and perky it was a dream
in downtown traffic. My only complaint was it
moving in the wind - but most vehicles would have had
this instability with the 90km winds we had today!
The car otherwise, handled like a dream. For under
$16,000, there is a lot of bang for the buck. GM
OnStar, traction control - 6 airbags = great car.
GM put on a great rally - and the 2009 Pontiac Vibe
shown brightly. Check one out at your local dealer, you
won't be disappointed!
