 BFGoodrich® Tires Unveiled this year the Custom-Designed Scorcher™ T/A®
Color Tires -- allowing consumers to choice of colors on their tires. The
tire itself will be black like like we are used to, but now consumers can
choose two colors from a palette of eight and decide where they want each
color applied to the tire. The color choices include blue, light green,
orange, orchid, purple, red, teal and yellow.
"BFGoodrich brand raised the bar for performance tires last year when we introduced the Scorcher T/A to the world. It is a tire that truly lets you
feel and see its traction advantage," said Mathew Aaron, brand manager for
BFGoodrich Tires. "Not only are we raising the bar again, but we're
redefining the tire-buying experience through on-line, customized tires."
Consumers can log onto www.bfgoodrichtires.com, design their own set of
Scorcher T/A tires, place the order, and be finished within five minutes. The tires will be delivered to a tire
dealership of choice or directly to the consumer's home in four to six
weeks. Delivery time ultimately will be as short as two to three weeks,
according to Aaron. Initially, custom Scorcher T/A tires will be sold only
to residents of the United States. Note: we
have a call in to their PR Dept to see when
they will be available in Canada.
Custom-order Scorcher™ T/A® tires only will be available through the
BFGoodrich® Tires Web site; however, stock
configurations of blue, red and yellow Scorcher T/A tires will continue to
be available at local BFGoodrich tire dealers.
Custom Scorcher T/A tires initially will be available in five 16-, 17- and 18-inch sizes. "The Scorcher T/A marries red-hot looks with unmatched
performance capabilities," said Rick Shafer, marketing manager for
BFGoodrich® passenger performance tires. "It is the ultimate finishing touch for anyone who wants
to bring a truly unique look to their vehicle."
The Scorcher T/A employs a distinctive tread pattern consisting of stable shoulder elements outboard and water-dispensing channels inboard for
superior traction and control. Its unique silica-reinforced tread compound
enhances both wet and dry traction, which has been optimized for maximum
grip.
The Scorcher T/A tire's footprint stress distribution provides for longer wear under normal driving and precise steering
response during high-performance operation.
